A mixed-martial arts champion was arrested after he ripped out his friend’s heart while it was still beating. He also tore out the man’s tongue and skinned his face while high on drugs. Jarrod Wyatt of Crescent City, California, has pleaded guilty to murder after doing something that he probably never would have done had he been sober.
Now, because of his decision to use drugs, Wyatt is going to spend 50 years to life in prison for an incident that will surely give him nightmares for many years to come.
The prosecutors in Del Norte County are saying that Wyatt’s plea of guilty is for first degree murder. The incident took place on March 21, 2010. The man killed was 21-year old Taylor Powell, his sparring partner. When police arrived to the man’s home, Wyatt was naked and covered in blood.
He simply told the police, “I killed him.” He says that he saw the devil in his friend’s face, and that’s what made him attack him. He cut an 18-inch hole in the man’s chest, removed his heart, cut out his tongue and cut out the majority of his face.
He did all this while his friend was still alive.
