Chad Ochocinco, the NFL star who is famously engaged to Evelyn Lozada of Basketball Wives, has been cut by the New England Patriots. According to ESPN, the team tried to trade Ochocinco, but were unable to do so, so they cut him instead.
Ocho tweeted about the cut:
“Thoroughly enjoyed the oppurtunity to play for the “Patriot” organization… fans were (expletive) wicked awesome, I wish all of you the best…”
Ochocinco has had six appearances in the pro bowl and a 10-year career with the Cincinnati Bengals. But last year was a disappointment: He had only 15 catches for 276 yards and one touchdown. This was the worst on-field performance of his entire career.
Ocho is now 34-years old, leading some to wonder if he’s going to become the next Terrell Owens. But he has had a great career thus far, playing 11 years with 11,059 receiving yards and 67 touchdowns. The New York Jets have shown interest in bringing him onto their team.
