The NAACP is calling for the removal of a teacher at a Malibu high school who is accused of using the film “Bridesmaids” as an excuse to repeatedly slap a ninth grade student for no reason.   TMZ is reporting that Dionne Evans filed a police report, claiming that the teacher slapped her six times because she forgot to bring a notebook to class.

The report also claims that the teacher asked Evans “Did you see the movie Bridesmaids?”  After asking the question, the teacher slapped the girl several times in front of the class.  This was in response to a scene in the film during which one character tries to slap some sense into another one.

The president of the Santa Monica branch of the NAACP is claims that a representative from the organization is planning to attend a school board meeting on the matter.  They are also demanding that the teacher be placed on administrative leave while the issue is investigated.   Dionne’s family and their attorney met with the NAACP on Tuesday to discuss legal options as well.

Maybe slapping students is not such a good teaching tool after all.
