A cop shot a family’s Border Collie mix after showing up at the wrong house and mistaking the family’s pet for a Pitbull.

The couple who lived at the address, Cindy and Mark Boling, had just returned home from shopping when police walked into their yard and shot their dog.

Mark Boling says he called out to the police officer to let him know the dogs don’t bite and caught up with Grace before she even got to the officer. Boling says it only took a few seconds for the officer to pull his gun and shoot Lillie, and also says the gun remained pointed at him after the dog had been shot and had run to the backyard to die.

Sadly, this is not an isolated incident. The Huffington Post recently published an in depth story about how trigger untrained and trigger happy cops are haphazardly killing family pets.
