Some might think that black people have better things to do with their money during a recession, but that’s what makes us so special. It is being reported that Blue Ivy Carter, the new child of Jay-Z and Beyonce, has a new sneaker line called “JetBlue.” The shoes, designed by Jeremy Scott of Adidas, are part of the hip hop clothing lines owned by Blue Ivy’s proud parents.
The baby is already rumored to own a pair of Christian Louboutins that match those of her mother. The couple celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary this week. Jay-Z was seen at Jacob&Co buying diamonds for his wife.
So much for black people being encouraged to save their money.

Don’t understand how peoples care for someone else’s name, then their own….. peoples spend your money wisely…
Our children need books and magazines to read. How many children have libraries in their homes that are everlasting. How many children have been give magazine subscriptions for one or two years?
Our children do not need another pair of sneakers to wear? I know some parents that will purchase these shoes but do not have a high school diploma and they are in their thirties. They want to keep up with the jones.
Beyonce and Jay z are not the only people who ever had a baby.
I think they are acting like they are just so special. Be thankful that your baby is healthy and beautiful…Is the money they make going to the baby’s college fund… or something!!! Get over yourselves.
you people don’t need any more money…I think I am finally over
Beyonce!!!!!
Jay-Z and Beyonce are…well, at least Beyonce is “still quite young”. I feel confident that they are thinking about Blue’s education, which perhaps may not include COLLGE. Do either of them have (or neeed) a college degree? The “newly” rich black person has found that you DON’T NEED a college degree to become filthy rich, just determined and believe in yourself. For it’s obviously the Power of Positive Thinking that has made the otherwise “average” Thug, a millionaire! However, I do hope those of us without a “marketable” Talent will gravitate towards Education as their tool to escape poverty and stupidity…ok, maybe just poverty. Power to the masses who can not only sing their way out, but also “think their way out.”
“If you bill it they will come,” especially, if the price is high enough! People love buying things that they think others cannot afford, hence, purchasing a purse that cost in excess of $30,000! You ask the question, “Brilliant or Stupid”? For the owners who came up with the concept, the answer is “Brilliant”! For the consumers, meaning “US,” the answer is “Stupid,” especially, if you are purchasing the shoes because they they bear the name “JetBlue”. With that said, people are entitled to spend their money in any manner they see fit, and it should not be encumbered upon others to dictate how they believe others should live their lives–i.e., spend their money. DIctating life to others is not a positive character trait.
Beyonce & Jay-Z, Will & Jada, Rihanna, and all these black entertainers with more money than talent need to be apprised of what time it is in the black community that MADE THEM.
This article is of NO IMPORTANCE at a time when black men
and boys are being gunned down in the streets like in the wild
west. And to make matters worse these are white on black crimes. It is bad enough when it is black on black. But in these
turbulent times, folks need t o feel solidarity with their black
mega-stars. All babies are beautiful because they are born.
But infant designer sneakers is not what the black community and all right-thinking Americans need to be about. WE need to know these black stars are feeling our common pain, and are front and center in willingness to help. Step-off w/nonesense!!!
Vanessa please reread your post. It is grammatically poor, as are so many on this thread. Effective communicating is the key to understanding. You must
speak well and write well to be taken seriously. And I
think you, Vanessa, want to be taken seriously.
COMMUNICATION!!!! Check your own work next time!
Why are we so interested in this baby? There are thousands of Black babies born that are precious and loved by their parents. Do you think for one minute that a person with common sense would buy shoes because it has her name on them? Oops, that’s right, millions of Blacks buy, kill and steal to own Air Jordans when the name on the shoe won’t make you any better. While M.J. though a great athelete is one of the most arrogant, self centered human beings alive. What has M.J. done for the Black community other than become a Republican. What is buying this babies shoes going to do for the Black people, nothing. But it will make the parents of this child richer and like Air Jordans take money from our tables to put on our feet and floss and gloss in the inner city ghettos.
I am correct. Tell us why you think I am not.
I fail to see how Beyonce is too young to be less vacuous than she is. And what on Earth does a college
degree have to do with knowing what is socially responsible or not? Answer: Nothing. I am so bored with the losing battle of THE DEGREED v. THE NON-DEGREED. Knowledge is worthy no matter how one acquires it. This ELITIST nonsense needs to stop. It is a deterrent to progress. Part of the reason we are on Earth is to love, and learn and teach each other.
Everyone has knowledge, and everyone can teach us something. But, to know this one would be WISE.
Beause her parents have money, Blue Ivy Carter will have all the material possessions her heart desires. If any parent, regardless of their social and economic status does not understand the needs of children beside materialistism then, we are lost. I specifically talking about African-Americans. We need to show our children unconditional love and the love of Jesus, if you believe. The mega rich African Americans, are not doing anything to build a future for young African-Americans. Case in point. Historically Black Colleges are on the verge of closing because alumuni are not supporting them and the money in some instances are not managed properly. Almost all young African-Americans go to historically black colleges. College may not be for everyone but education is. Malcolm X did not attend college. Babies should not have shoes on their feet until they start walking. Common sense unless it is cold and if they are covered properly, what do they need shoes for if they are not walking. People get real. I tend not to respond to these comments because we are wasting too much time comenting about irrelevant issuses. Take care. Be Blessed. Do something meaning with your life.
as a society we focus so much on finding what is wrong and goes against our beliefs at.at the end of the day what other people do does not affect us at all….if beyonce and jay z like the idea of sneakers with their child s name on it then who are we to judge if you like it then you buy them if you want..if you do not like it then its aalso fine its your opinion at the end of the day and you can keep to yourself……….money is something we all want at different levls as we are different individuals and how we spend it is our choice so dont judge ssome else s spending of mine o making of money………….what i wld like to ask @harold i brown is how has the black community made mj?
