It is being reported that Clive Davis has almost no interest in contributing to the cost of Whitney Houston’s funeral. Although Davis paid many of her bills while she was alive, some are speculating that he only did so because of Houston’s earning potential. Could it be true?
Music mogul Clive Davis will not be paying for Whitney Houston’s funeral which will take place in Newark, New Jersey on Saturday, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.
The news comes as a surprise, as Davis was paying the majority of Houston’s bills before the pop singer tragically died at age 48 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel last Saturday.
Davis has faced scrutiny from Houston’s family and Chaka Khan, amongst others, for proceeding with the pre-Grammy party at the hotel last Saturday, while Houston’s body was still in the bathroom upstairs in her room.
Houston passed away on Saturday afternoon after she was found unconscious and unresponsive in her bathtub at the iconic hotel. The award winning singer was declared dead by paramedics at 3:55 p.m. PST.
“Yes, Clive was paying the majority of Whitney’s bills before she died. He was even paying for her room at the Beverly Hilton Hotel; she was out of money. She didn’t have anything left,” a source close to the situation tells RadarOnline.com. “Clive won’t be paying for any part of Whitney’s funeral though. Whitney’s family will be responsible for all the costs.”
“Whitney’s fortune is gone,” a source said at the time. “Music industry heavy hitters are supporting her and her label is fronting her cash against her next album, but no one knows when that will be released. She might be homeless if not for people saving her. She is broke as a joke. She called someone to ask for $100.”
The funeral for Houston will be a private invitation only event, and Clive Davis will be there, along with Houston’s ex-husband Bobby Brown.”
Clive Davis really loved Whitney. He is a professional and a business man and he has been in her life in a good way. Whitney loved him too as a father image. Time will tell all.

Maybe, but there’s Heath Ledger and Brittany Murphy, … Elvis and Marilyn, James Dean, River Phoenix, Judy Garland, John Belushi, John Candy. (not to mention a really long list of just the musicians, so many white, and so many just on drugs). They’re ALL just slaves to Hollywood and the entertainment industry.

But whats that mean? She made a very conscientious choice to join the industry, even when her family was hesitant to let her go in that direction. She was overly confident… They’re all manhandlers, in the industry, to black or white artists, the ones who manage, produce, etc. Most people spout that Bobby Brown didn’t help Whitney… don’t know HOW much thats true, but I’d say he had a bigger help in her demise than Clive… and she did make personal choices as well. We all do… but the industry is a monster… it picks you up, chews you up, and doesn’t give mercy… Its sad that the beautiful person of who she was got fully trapped into that.
I get so sick and tired of Black people always trying to say something negative when a sotry involves a Black person and a White person. Everything doesn’t have to do with race. Clive Davis was better to Whitney than any of you. Hell what else do you want the man to do? Were any of you paying her bills – uh HELL NO! He shouldn’t have to pay for her funeral, he was keeping her afloat before she passed. Her family should be responsible for all funeral arrangement. Hell I say if you are that mad about send them some of your damn money. And by the way before you say anything about my post and that I am just another white person speaking out for a white man, well when I looked in the mirror today I was still African American, just not one thinking that everything has to do with the color of your skin.
I don’t think Whitney needs Clove to pay her funeral bill. Why should he? Whitney has money and family. This sounds like q vicious rumor not a story
I think we should let Whitney rest in peace. Pray for Bobbi Christina and Cissy. In my experience with an addict, there is nothing you can do to stop their life style. I tried crying, threatening, sending the person to Rehab, praying without ceasing. If anyone out there knows something that can be done to stop a person from killing themself by living this lifestyle please let me know.
