A 21 year old Palestinian woman says she was locked in a bathroom for ten years by her father, who only allowed her out to clean the house.
Baraa Melhem said her father insinuated that he was keeping her in the bathroom for her own safety. She was freed from the eeeerrr, bathroom by Palestinian police.
According to authorities, Melhem’s father fed her only bread while he held her in the 1-1/2 meter bathroom. She was also not allowed to see her mother, whom her father had divorced, while she was locked in the small toilet space.
An awful, awful question, but one wonders whether the bathroom was a functioning prison or whether the father continued to use the toilet even while his… well, either way, it’s despicable.
