A video appeared online that appears to show a police officer planting drugs on a suspect. But the local police say this is not the case. The video is below:
Utica Police Chief Mark Williams says that this is only part of the story.
“He’s going into the car with it and that’s what he’s doing, it’s cold out and he’s basically separating the drugs from both defendants,” says Chief Williams.
Williams also openly asks why the officer would plant drugs on a citizen knowing that he was being recorded.
“It’s his car. He’s the one that’s turned that camera on. He should be fully aware that the camera is likely going to catch anything that’s going on in front of him,” says Williams.
“Obviously it’s a personal opinion someone has, maybe an agenda. All I can tell you is this; if I have an officer that I feel is planting drugs, he’s not going to have a job with the Utica Police Department. It’s not in my bests interests to keep someone like that around.”
This shouldnt be a surprise. Cops has been planting drugs on blacks for centuries and hauling them to jail even when they are innocent. I think this cop should be the one charged for carrying drugs on him and the thrown in jail. He just got caught. Thank God for cameras.

Well unfortunately we have not had a chance to see the full tape. Someone edited the part where the officer took the drugs off the suspect. This is unfortunate because things like this actually happen; however, this is not one of those cases.
As D. L. Hugley would say, “I’m shocked & appalled,” but in this case I am Black, and I am shocked & appalled!
Unfortunately I’m not surprised by the activity, or the Chiefs response to it. If the officer had taken the drugs from the suspect prior to getting in front of the camera as some suggest, why would he take it out of his pocket and put it in the car???
@eagle- have you ever seen anyone get pulled over and have their car searched? If you have, you know like the rest of us that if a cop finds something they don’t put it it their pocket! They put it in plain sight to be seen not in their pocket and then go on searching a car only to pull it out of their pocket- put it in the car and then pull it out like they just found it! I mean use your common sense. Not to mention there was an article in the newspaper about a cop confessing that most cops on the force in ny plant drugs on people for a few reasons- 1. So they can take their car sell it and keep the money and 2. So they can up their quota numbers.
Since when do cops put drugs in their back pocket? I thought what ever they retrieve goes straight to the hood of their vehicle! Putting it in their pocket definelty violates the chain of custody.

How do you know? Did you see him take the drugs off the suspect? Cops plant drugs and evidence as a routine part of their job.
It does not violate the chain of custody, you have watched to much tv.
How many more of our black brothers in jail/prison on these false charges by these same officers or that one officers. I sure hope he was fired and the brothers was let off.
