Janet Hubert apparently has some old beef with Will Smith that she hasn’t quite worked out. The cast of the Fresh Prince recently reunited to talk about old times. Noticeably absent was Hubert, who wanted no part of it.
“There will never be a reunion … as I will never do anything with an asshole like Will Smith,” she told TMZ.

I saw a show spotlighting her on TVONE and she was very clear of how she felt about Will Smith and how he made her tenure a living hell on the show.
Explain to me how do you let go of feelings of being professionally disrespected? There was no excuse for his behavior. These statements are not new and Will Smith has not made any statements in defense of himself or his actions.
Letting go of the past doesn’t mean she has to take part in a silly reunion sideshow to please audiences.
Janet Hubert has for far too long been looked upon as having been miscast for the role as Will’s mother’s sister, thus, his “aunt”. Believe it or not it all boiled down to the viewing public, the press, the critics, the advertisers (thereinlie the rub), and the pundits not completely buying into the show having a “dark skinned” aunt whose acting resume and credits were at best questionable from the jump. Sorry. So — the door was open to a rift. It was Will’s show and EVERY other cast member including my man Carlton took it in stride except her. She thought SHE had the juice — but didn’t — and Will probably had to spend valuable time reminding her of the fact that HE was the star — NOT HER. What do you expect? Sour grapes is all this is about. Will should NEVER have allowed them to keep her around.
