What the Ha-yell reports:
After Eva Hoake, editor of Dutch magazine, Jackie, resigned after pop-star, Rihanna, was called a “nigga-bitch” in a fashion spread, the world was just beginning to revert back to normal. Then, Rihanna issued a scathing “F-You” to Jackie on Twitter, and the publisher, Yves Gijrath, said that they never should have apologized in the first place, reports Villamedia.
Gijrath says that Hoake should have stood firm behind her editorial decision, instead of bending to the controversial pressure:
[T]here is nothing wrong in the magazine. [Hoeke] presented it as a joke, but it most certainly was not a joke. It was an interpretation [of a fashion style]. [...] She should have said: “we did not realize this interpretation is such a touchy subject. We never meant any harm and offer our sincere and upright apologies.” But because of all the fuss, Eva started to wiggle in all directions, and therefore we have come to the conclusion her credibility has been undermined.
Gijrath claims that Rihanna has been invited to respond, but that they would not be printing a retraction. “We will not be silenced,” he said. “People are totally off limits when calling both the magazine Jackie and Eva Hoeke racist. Jackie is even produced by an editorial staff that is of mixed origins.”

Editorial staff that is of mixed origin??? What the hell has that got to do with being racist…..and calling a respected Black artist a nigga bitch? Nigga-bitch? ARE YOU MAD?? THOSE ARE FIGHTING WORDS WHERE I COME FROM. SHE NEEDED TO BE DRAGGED OUT OF HER COMFORT ZONE BY HER ROOTS AND WHIP HER ASS TO TEACH HER HOW TO SPELL NIGGA BITCH!
Now I feel better, by the way these is no spelling that word so therefore that’ll be a long whipping.

I am all for having an opinion, but going out on a limb and stating that you were calling her this in regards to fashion. That is said! Then they choose to get upse,t because of what she commented to them on twitter, and say that they meant what was said; is depressing! The aweful truth about this is that most people would say that this is free speech and they will continue to purchase this magazine and read it online. This is makes me ill to think that this is what these top editors feel they have to do in order to SELL magazines. I amcurious what their response would have been if the shoes where on the other feet…….When will we as a world wake up!
Eva Hoake is ignorant. From the use of the word to the explanation of using the word is just plain ignorant.
When are you black people going to stop letting others take your minds off your own liberation? If Rihanna wants to live in a world filled with white people who call her names, let her. More power to her? What’s it got to do with your black self? White people are 1/10th of the world’s population. What’s it matter what they say?–they say more sh*t in private. There are at the very least 1 billion Africans on Earth who DO matter. Free your flippin minds.
I know alot of folks are gonna disagree but blacks call each other ni**as and B***hes. We have referred to each other as every name in the book except for the names on our birth certificates. Until we respect one another, how can you ask someone else to?
I am a black woman and I’ve never been called a nigga nor a bitch and I don’t call others nigga or bitch. So, please stop saying what Black people do. Let it be known that I am not the exception; most of my friends are also Black and they don’t use those words either. I’ve never heard Rihanna use those words. For those words to be written in this magazine it just shows that the magazine is classless.
We all live in a world where people call us ALL names. I think you are missing the point. But, we all are not invited to do a magazine article and then disrespected in it. If someone was to invite you to their home and once you arrived you are called names that you find to be disrespectful, you would have a problem with that. I would.
Am I to assume that there are no Black readers of this mag or is it a rag? At any rate I am offended and feel that the magazine should do more than print a retraction and apology. They should ostracize themselves.
I commend you and your friends but unfortunately, you are just a small percentage of those who don’t use the word. Besides, Rhianna isn’t anyones role model anyway. I won’t go any further to correct you because your mind isn’t on my level.

No, JKIR I do not agree at all with your statement. Nikki and her friends are definitely NOT
a “small percentage” of those who don’t use the word. I live in the
black community on Chicago’s south side, have majority Black friends and
rarely hear either term. Truth is even those who use it are wary of
using it publicly (as our culture/community labels it as ignorant).
However, certain segments may use these terms more often…teenagers and
younger, less mature adults. If that is your peer group that would
explain your perspective. Either way, anyone who uses these terms
publicly (especially in a professional setting) is either immature or
should be vilified as someone who should DEFINITELY not have a position
of influence. Shame on Dutch magazine and Eva Hoake for their lack of
respectful and professional behavior.
I most def know you aren’t keeping it real. I too am from the south side of Chicago, the south east side. Born and raised there my entire life and it’s all I hear. I mean honestly, look at the movies, music, stand on the CTA bus stop. Why lie???? It is a part of society even to the point where other races are using it freely as well. Didn’t Jay Z bring out Rhianna, is she not on his label? Do him and Kanye West have a song out now called Ni**as in Paris, oh it’s a part of society. It’s world wide. You better wake up and smell reality sweetheart. Not saying I agree but the African American community is more abusive to one another than any other race can be. And that is keeping it real.
This is not a joke. If black folks were like they were back in the 60′s they would boycott everything that is Dutch and demand that the American state department ask for an official apology.
Almost every other person coming out of Holland has a brown complexion.I am sure we could make fun of their Royal family being 2nd rate since nobody knows they exist but that would be just like them.
Growing up in the hood of North Philly (i loved in back then),
there were two sayings that apply to this situation:
1) I said it, I meant it, and I’m here to represent it!!!
2) You my nigga if don’t get any bigga; but if you get any bigga
you’ll be my bigga nigga!!!
Let us not forget that the dutch were reposible for aparthide in South Africa…need I say more. And please don’t insult our intelligence by saying you did’nt know the words nigger and bitch are offensive!!!
Those of you who say you hear African-Americans call each other Nigga-Bitch all the time are lying. As an African-American woman I have never referred to another woman this way and have never had them refer to me this way. Real life for ALL African-Americans is not what whites observe in a video. I am sick and tired of white people and their idea that all blacks are the same, wake up, open your mind, show some intelligence. I was not raised that way and neither was most African-Americans…Wow!
You are so wrong and how dare you say someone is not on your level…No! You are not keeping it real.
You need to change your location and the people you associate with…I don’t want to be around people with such low morals and minds. Also, I like Rihanna (she is 20, young and inexperienced), I don’t llke Jay-Z, and Kanye, I don’t listen to or buy their music.
There are many Respected Black Artist, let me be clear, Rihanna is not one of them…
