Who said that Big Willy doesn’t have power? The respected actor is standing tall when it comes to how much money he wants for his return to the Independence Day franchise. It’s been 15 years since Will Smith played Captain Stephen Hiller in the 1996 hit film, which opened the door for him to become a block buster within himself. But now he’s calling the shots and demanding money that fits his market value.
In addition to bringing himself on board, Will is asking that his wife and daughter be added to the cast. He wants $50 million for his return to Independence Day, and doesn’t seem to be interested in doing anything that doesn’t involve his family. Without Jada and Willow, there will be no movie. A source broke it down this way:
“It’s complicated because of where and how Smith wants to shoot, he wants to be close to home, to the kids… There’s also been talks about him wanting Jada and maybe even Willow in the movie too. Sony just managed to get through the mire that was ‘Men in Black 3′, and so Fox is just trying to avoid anything remotely similar. They want the story straight and want Will to sign off on it, totally, before they proceed.”
Maybe since he and his wife were allegedly creating false marital troubles to get their names out in the public eye, putting his wife in the film might help to jump start her tired career. But being a wife and mother is quite an achievement, so Jada has nothing to be ashamed of.

I see nothing wrong with Will requesting 50M. White celebrities are paid this amount and higher. Get that paper Willy.

Pay him. Pay THEM.
Will Barack Obama now castigate Will for being one of the greedy people stealing from the poor?
….not worth it…
No one should be angered by a man doing to the system, what is required. Market value is just tht. He has a responsibility to his daughter’s happiness, as well as his wife; obviously.
