One thing that is left unquestioned in this world is a mother’s love. A woman in South Carolina may have violated this sacred tenet by allegedly killing her sons in order to obtain the insurance money. Susan Diane Hendricks has been charged with killing her two sons, Matthew and Marshall, 23 and 20 years old respectively. She is also accused of murdering her ex-husband Mark Hendricks, 52, along with her stepmother, Linda Burns, who was in her 60s.
Hendricks is also being charged with four counts of possession of a weapon during a violent crime. Police have found a “significant trail of blood” after entering the home where the murders took place. Matthew Hendricks and Linda Burns were found in the house.
Family has been telling police that Hendricks committed the murders for the insurance money. She was the beneficiary of policies that had been taken out by the victims. They claim the murders were committed by a hand gun.
Pickens County Sheriff David Stone called the incident “a horrendous act of evil. I can’t imagine a mom killing her two sons for money,” he said.
