NBA Commissioner David Stern canceled the first two weeks of the season Monday because players refused to back down and rescind their demands.
For more than seven hours Monday, top negotiators tried to hammer out the fine details on a contractual agreement that would ensure the 82 game season could commence — with no luck. No additional formal talks have been scheduled.
