Hip hop artist Tone Loc has pleaded guilty to domestic violence after a battle that took place this summer. He pleaded guilty to one count of corporal injury to a spouse, cohabitant or child’s parent and possession of an assault weapon. The weapon was an unregistered AR-15 Sporter, but he didn’t actually use it.
Tone was arrested and in custody for less than an hour before posting bond of $50,000. In case you didn’t know, Tone’s real name is Anthony Smith. He’s now 45-years old and no longer dropping the hits that made him famous nearly 20 years ago. He got his big break in the 1980s with the song “Wild Thing.”
Tone is going to spend one day in the county jail, three years on probation and get 52 weeks of anger management counseling in addition to 30 days of community service. This might mean a smaller number of old school concert appearances for the artist this year.
