Remember the case last year of Derrion Albert at Fenger High School in Chicago? The 16-year old boy was beaten to death on a tape that embarrassed this school around the world. Well, there’s another boy, almost the same age, with almost the same name, in the same school district at the same high school, who went through something very similar.
Darion Jones, a 16-year old student at Fenger High School, was allegedly beaten by some other 16-year olds. The beating was so bad that his prosthetic eye and his tooth fell out. Get this – the beating took place after two high school football coaches allegedly drove the assailants to Jones’ house to beat him up!
The boy is now afraid to head to school, and the beating was allegedly over a pair of flip flops. Yes, we’re sure that the first thing you wanted to read with your bacon and eggs was a story about a bunch of black people beating each other’s asses over a pair of flip flops.
“I couldn’t see nothing but Darion bloody, shirt ripped. I’m screaming, ‘What’s the matter? what’s the matter?” said Patricia Jones, the boy’s mother.
Chicago Public School Officials were on the case, saying that they were going to investigate the situation.
“CPS continues to investigate this matter and school leadership is currently discussing next steps. However, no final decisions will be made until there is a clear understanding of what occurred during this incident,” the district said in a statement.
Those coaches should have been immediately fired and had charges filed against them. Whta re they waiting for? Flip flops? Really?

The problem with this story is that…you don’t have the whole story. You see the young man that got beat up along with four other friends had just jumped and beat up one of the football players that came back to his house. During that fight they robbed a football player of his shoes (flip flops) and an IPod. What the mother of this boy is also not telling is that her son has also been in about 5 fights in the brief five weeks of school so far. What also isn’t being said is that only one coach went to the young man’s house, but it was not to get him to fight, rather it was to prevent a fight that was coming his way. You all need to get your facts straight.
