New Orleans rapper, Lil Dee God’s Gift, thought that shooting a “guerrilla style” music video, portraying him and a few friends robbing a store would be a good idea.
Jefferson Parish deputies thought differently.
Lil Dee, born Danny Rogers, burst into an Ames Express convenience store in Merraro—with permission from the clerk—with real guns to act out the “robbery,” and police were not far behind him.
Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s deputies arrested Rogers, Chance Gomez, Yonael Santana, Timothy Kelly and Nidal Jambour for criminal mischief at the “crime scene”; Raassan Holmes, Frank Cheffen and Terrell Hogan face an additional charge of illegal carrying of a concealed weapon:
“This is not smart,” says Sheriff Newell Normand. “Had they had the guns out and our officers come upon them, the likelihood is we would have multiple people dead.”
Fox 8 Alive reports that passers-by witnessed what they believed to be hold-up and called 911.
