Rapper —I can’t force myself to say Hip-Hop artist — Petey Pablo has been sentenced to prison for 3 years after pleading guilty to possession of a stolen firearm.
The rapper, born Moses Barrett III, best known for his “song” Freek-a-Leek, an ode to promiscuous women named “Shameka, Daronda and Sha’von” who have “earrings in their tongues” was arrested at Raleigh-Durham International Airport on Sept. 11 2010, when airport security discovered a 9mm handgun in his luggage as it passed through the X-ray machine.
Previously convicted on felony armed robbery charges, Pablo, who is also known for rapping about a teen-age Ciara’s “goodies”, faces additional time because the gun had been reported as stolen during a 1995 home invasion.

Wow- Stupid is, as Stupid does! Attempting to board a filght with a weapon of any kind i is just plain silly. To do so on 9/11 is well- absolutely and positively insane!
We hav 2 wake up an c tht they made these rules an they r go n 2 enforce them there way
My only question is what would possess an individually who has already been in jail for armed robbery to carry a concealed gun onto a airplane?? Non less, be stolen from a home invasion, the charges just went up and another brother gone yet again.
Man, I’m an ex-felon with a Pardon, I GOT ONE QUESTION, WHAT WAS HE HIGH ON, HE’S LUCKY THAT THE FEDS DIDN’T TAKE THE CASE, HE SHOULD PRAY THAT THEY DON’T.
This is no less than that expected.
A 9mm in luggage at airport on 9/11? Was he high? If not, someone rode the short yellow bus to school when he was young.
Social retard. Jail is the best place for him.
Glad he’s going to jail, he will have time to think about what a stupid senseless crime he committed. Maybe he will just have time to write more of the same mindless garbage filled rap songs that will get played to death on urban radio.
Deep in his subconscious mind, he needs containment. He knows that he is not responsible enough to handle his biz on his own. He needs to have someone tell him when and how!
Obviously, none of the Comments I read were written by people in the music/hip hop business (from the ENTERTAINER point-of-view). Sure it wasn’t the smartest thing to do, especially not on 9/11; but there are people out there who are WAITING for the opportunity to catch an entertainer “sleeping” (vulnerable), so they can rob, kidnap, assault (or worse!) us. “WHY would they,” you say?
The motives can be anything from jealousy (that said artist is doing better, making more money and/or more famous than they are) to another sort of jealousy (his girl compares him time and time again (and unfavorably) to the artist, and he wants to show her that he can take the big-shot down). Other “reasons” (try “excuses”!): They couldn’t get a ticket/good seat to the last concert, and they’re pissed off; the artist was wearing the wrong “color”, and they’re pissed off; they don’t agree with the artist’s latest political statement, and they’re pissed off; the artist threw up a Peace Sign, which was misinterpreted by the loony (Oops! Sorry abt that one!!) as a rival gang sign, and (you guessed it…) they’re pissed off. None of these are good reasons to want to do harm to another individual, but there you have it. The world has gone LOONY, and people have to protect themselves, right?? *sigh*
DUMB ASS-What is wrong with folks. You are lucky enough to get picked up by a label. Your in the lime light and making money and your dumb self start to believe the hype (you know, how a black man has to walk around with a gun because everyone is after him) And now you going back to jail. Not that you were out for a bit and you did something wrong. You have multiple chages pending against you ig-nate butt. What a waist…
